Control Strategy of Wind-Diesel Hybrid System and Artificial Intelligence
Charlie Dou

The basic concepts and development of artificial intelligence, such as expert systems, fuzzy logic models, neural networks, and genetic algorithms are reviewed. These artificial intelligence have the potential to be used into wind-diesel hybrid power generation system to improve the system performance, provide quality power and high efficiency.

Wind Power Prediction Using Fuzzy Neural Networks
Fangjun Wang, Charlie Dou

Water pumping is one of the oldest and long term use of wind power. Includes: Fundamentals, rotor characteristics, mechanical systems and performance. Electric-to-electric systems and comparisons of electric and mechanical pumping. Comparison of wind pumping systems to other methods. [pg 24.]

Wind Characteristics: An Analysis for the Generation of Wind Power
Janardan S. Rohatgi, Vaughn Nelson

The conflict between the fuel saving and system life-time is the heart of the dispatch/control problems in a wind/hybrid system. The crucial consideration of the control system is the fluctuation of the wind speed. The correct prediction of wind speed will be very helpful in the system dispatch and control. This paper proposed a new approach which utilizes a fuzzy neural network to predict wind speed. On the basis of the prediction, the wind hybrid system might approach an optimal performance.
