Maryneal,
Site 12, is on an Abilene Communications tower on the southwest side of
Maryneal TX. This was originally planned to be a 250m tower but only 50m
have been installed to date. The tower is a three legged angle iron unit
with climbing rungs on the southwest leg. The south face is used for mounting
the logger and the solar sensors are mounted on a pipe on the roof of the
radio shed to the south of the tower. The roof is the working platform
for the logger access and the logger is mounted at 4m. There is a large
torsion arrester at 50 m so the upper anemometer level is only 45m at this
site ( to limit wind interference at this height). Booms are EMT with 1/2"
risers and are mounted on opposite sides of the tower.
Site Description: 32.2 Deg. North, 100.4 Deg. West,
762m elevation, open wheat field, flat, no other vegitation within 200m,
radio shed immediately to south of tower, 4m tall.
